Join GerrAudio’s Technical Services & Design team and play a key role in creating system designs and delivering technical support and training across Canada. As a Technology Applications Specialist, you’ll work closely with internal teams, end-users, consultants, and manufacturer partners to design, commission, and support cutting-edge audio systems that include GerrAudio's lineup of audio solutions. This role combines technical problem solving with field-facing customer interaction, education, and pre and post-sales support.

Purpose
GerrAudio is expanding its Technical Services & Design team to strengthen customer support and maintain its commitment to providing exceptional service and sales assistance across Canada. We are looking for a passionate audio professional with strong technical skills and a problem-solving mindset. The ideal candidate will have a keen desire to learn and the ability to connect with individuals at all levels within the AV industry.
As a Technology Applications Specialist, you will work closely with GerrAudio's Manager of Technical Services and technical sales teams, serving as a key point of contact for the design, training, and support of GerrAudio's full range of technology solutions.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Pre-Sale Services: Design audio and communications solutions; create technical drawings; qualify equipment; collaborate with end-users, dealer partners and supplier contacts; assist with the creation and development of sales opportunities
- Audio Systems Networking and Control: Configure, program, and implement audio and intercom communications systems; ensure recommended components are compatible with each other and with overall audio ecosystem
- Post-Sale Support: Provide technical assistance to customers via phone, email, or on-site as needed for troubleshooting and system optimization or repair; maintain constant contact with internal Service Dept. to track repair situations and offer end-user/customers updates as needed
- Project Commissioning: Assist with commissioning larger, qualified projects and act as a trusted liaison between the end-user, dealer/integrator, consultants and supplier contacts
- Urgent Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to urgent technical issues and resolve them as quickly as possible
- Demonstrations and Presentations: Assist with the planning, assembling, and programming of product demonstrations for internal events, trade shows, or at customer locations; provide technical presentations to customers, end-users, or consultants in support of Technical Sales Representatives
- Product Analysis: Conduct competitive product analysis within defined timeframes, particularly during tender processes
- Training: Over time and with guidance and training, conduct product-specific and/or customer-specific educational sessions covering GerrAudio's technology (Meyer Sound, DiGiCo, Clear-Com, etc.)
- Ongoing Education: Stay current with products and technologies by participating in manufacturer product training (in-person, online), webinars, and relevant publications (including GerrAudio brands, competitive brands and complimentary technology)
- Manufacturer Relationships: Maintain professional and effective communication with manufacturer technical services and sales contacts. Visit major manufacturers for training and occasionally host manufacturer visitors in Canada
- Trade Shows: Attend domestic and international trade shows to receive technical training, meet with manufacturers and customers, assess competitive products, and explore new business opportunities
Qualifications
- Expertise in Pro AV and Systems Integration: In-depth knowledge of the Pro audio and systems integration market, including audio signal flow, sound reinforcement, audio networking, intercom ecosystems, DSP, and audio control systems (to name a few)
- Technical Proficiency: At least 5-7 years of experience as an AV System Designer, Project Manager or Engineer, with hands-on experience in designing, commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting audio systems
- Networking Knowledge: Solid understanding of network routing, switching environments, multicast/unicast transport, and related protocols. Proven experience implementing AV devices on networks is an asset
- Education: Post-Secondary degree in Audio Visual, Telecommunications, Electronics, Networking, or a related field
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft and Apple operating systems. Experience using Odoo (company's ERP) is a bonus but not necessary
- Temp Player with Grit: We are looking for someone who is willing to get their hands dirty some days and wear the white gloves the next. Someone who can load and unload a truck, proceed to set up and commission a system, and finish the day by taking the customer out for dinner. Someone who can relate to a grumpy union member one day, and an acoustical consultant the next... And at the end of both, have them singing Gerr's praises
Valid Class G Ontario (or Provincially equivalent) Driver's License in order to drive the company's van(s) while not negatively impacting the company's automobile insurance premiums. Must be comfortable and competent with driving an oversized cargo van (Dodge ProMaster or equivalent).
Valid Passport and ability to travel by air, train, or motor vehicle domestically and internationally.
Ownership of an insured personal vehicle in good condition to be used for business use is essential.
Bondable and/or able to produce a Police Record Search Certificate.

Working Conditions
- Required to work min. 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM). This role will require occasional evening and weekend work
- Weekly travel to visit customers and/or suppliers and to attend Company sales initiatives (trade shows) is required
- If successful candidate is remote, regular visits to the company's HQ in Brockville will be required
