Josh Fehrmann is a Senior Technical Support Specialist for Meyer Sound with a background in touring, music, and sound design for theatre. At Meyer Sound, Josh serves a multipurpose role where every day is different. Some of his responsibilities include customer support, sound system calibrations, Constellation technical support, digital product support, and education and training.
Josh received his M.F.A in Sound Design from the University of California, Irvine, where his thesis was on Sound Design for the Restaurant Environment. He lives and works remotely in the Atlanta, GA area.
This workshop will explore the use of the Milan protocol in live entertainment from a live sound person's perspective. At the start of the session, Josh will walk the class through a practical deployment of an onsite PA system using a Milan infrastructure - from the original audio source to each loudspeaker endpoint. During this exercise, Josh will display the live Milan network on Meyer Sound’s NEBRA software platform, and demonstrate to the class how to effectively organize and manage connections in Milan AVB networks using this technology.
During the second part of the session, we will explore the real-world deployment of Milan on the current Ed Sheeran: Mathematics Stadium World Tour. Josh will use the tour as a real case study to explore the use of the first large-scale certified Milan network deployed with 212 PANTHER loudspeakers.
…and if that doesn't sound fun enough, stick around after the session for some informal fun with Spacemap Go! Josh will turn the Milan-based system into an immersive environment for visitors to enjoy.
