FIRST CANADIAN SD9 DELIVERED TO DL SOUND IN VICTORIA
Doug Lingard is the proud owner of the first SD9 delivered in Canada.
The SD9 is the newest and smallest member of the Digico "SD" family
featuring Digico's ground breaking "Stealth" Engine.
Stealth technology represents the digital mixing industries most powerful
processing technology to date, and it's exclusive to Digico.
Stealth technology allows a Feature/Performance/Price ratio never thought
possible and the mix engine's small size (10"x10"x4") means that all
processing on the SD9 (like the SD7 and SD8) is done right inside the
worksurface, no external racks.
The SD9 has a 24 fader control surface featuring the signature
high-resolution touch screen used in all SD Series desks. New "fast buttons"
on the SD9 give operators immediate access to all adjustable channel strip
functions without the need to look at or touch the screen while mixing.
XLR's provided right on the worksurface provide local I/O and the SD9 is
delivered with a 75 metre digital snake and remote 32 In by 8 Out Stage Box.
As Doug Lingard says "I bought the SD9 sight unseen mainly because of the
international touring reputation that Digico has and the SD8 which is
obviously similar. On it's very first gig I was asked to supply another well
known brand of digital console and asked if I could supply my Digico SD9
instead, the answer was "Sure". The guy I was speaking to was Craig Brittan
who was mixing for a popular local band Mother Mother. At the time I had no
idea he was the Monitor engineer for Michael Buble and was on a break from
Buble's worldwide tour. Craig uses an SD7 to mix monitors for Buble and
before he finished the night he was showing all of us a bunch of cool tricks
that the little SD9 can do, the same tricks he uses on his SD7".
