Starting as the first of many, GerrAudio conducted a DPA Microphones session for a group of Technical Directors at the Grand Theatre in Kingston, ON. The presentation, called "Knowing Your Microphone", is an overview on what makes a good microphone and how that relate to live sound. The presentation focused on the d:screet miniature, d:facto handheld vocal microphone and d:vote instrument microphones. Live Guitar and Piano Presentations were provided to show how simple positional changes can alter the pickup pattern of the microphone and enhance the sound quality.
CBC's new show "The Goods" is taking advantage of DiGiCo's new S21 Console for its Fall Launch. "The console is a breeze to use and very configurable. It made my job much easier with a very quick setup", says CBC A1 Craig MacDonald. Having experience with SD9 and SD11, the S21 was an obvious and easy choice for the show.
The Tragically Hip final tour, the “Man Machine Poem, relied on a pair DiGiCo SD7s for its Canada wide excursion. The tour was provided by the Solotech’s Toronto office. After having provided a tour package for the “Fully Completely” tour in 2015, Solotech was a natural choice. “There is a reason DiGiCo is a leader in the modern console world. They sound great, very easy to create a custom work flow and so many useful tools available without having to run a third party plug-in package.” comments Monitor Engineer Andrew Werlick.
